Wireless Temperature Monitor System 0
TempSys, Inc. has released the wireless temperature monitor system called CheckPoint G2. CheckPoint is a wireless, computerized remote temperature monitoring, recording and alert system to wirelessly monitor temperature of refrigerators and freezers where temperature monitoring is critical. The software program is designed to help meet JCAHO, DHS, CAP, AABB and regulatory health requirements.
CheckPoint is currently in operation in many hospitals across the country, from the Rehab Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, to the VA Medical Center in Miami, Florida.
The system installs on an existing PC and comes complete with installation, training and support for a turnkey solution. Radio interference is a major concern for most hospital due to the numerous sensitive medical equipment and wireless devices, but a radio frequency study indicated no interference from the CheckPoint 900 MHz system, including the Spectralink phone system. None of our numerous hospital installations have ever reported an interference problem.
A manager can view the current and historical temperature data from any computer. Alerts are automatically emailed/text messages to cell phones or pagers, and scheduled so that different people can be alerted based on the day of the week and time of the day.
CheckPoint guides the user in fully documenting the corrective action, always ready for JCAHO or DHS inspection. Reports can analyze equipment performance and identify problem units. Sensors can be placed anywhere inside a refrigerator or freezer, and with the doors tightly shut, the G2 system can wirelessly collect temperature data from an unlimited number of equipment in a facility of any size.
Featuring 2-way communication and memory, the G2 sensors will never lose data even during a power outage, network or computer failure.
The system is built on the 900 MHz Frequency Hopping Technology which provides redundant data transmission for reliable communication from every sensor. 900 MHz is an unlicensed frequency range and the Frequency Hopping technology will cause no interference with other 900 MHz devices or any other wireless devices operating at other frequencies.
The program works with Windows 2000 or XP Professional operating system, and uses SQL, a very stable database engine capable of supporting multiple users simultaneously sharing the program over a computer network. A Pentium III or higher is recommended.
Humidity, temperature and other parameters can also be monitored.
CheckPoint is the first wireless temperature monitoring system adopted by the FDA and USDA laboratories, and installed in a great number of hospitals, laboratories, blood banks, life science labs, hotels, restaurants, food processors and cold storage distribution centers.
