Ultrafine Mineral-Insulated Metal-Sheathed (MIMS) Thermocouples

Kobe, Japan — Okazaki has successfully developed a Mineral Insulated (MI) Thermocouple (TC) with a sheath outer diameter of 0.1 mm.It features an incredible response time (63.2%) of 1 ms (0.001 seconds), and is suitable for measuring the temperature of any small object.

Due to the ultra small size, the thermocouple element wires are very small, and require highly advanced technology to form the hot junctions.
