Dresden Germany and Melville NY USA — ZMD’s TSic family offers low-cost, calibrated, high-accuracy temperature sensor IC solutions with accuracies as small as 0.05 °C with single-wire 11-bit digital serial signal output compatible with state-of-the-art µP controllers. System-on-a-chip based on advanced mixed signal technology integrating precision temperature sensing bandgap reference with proportional to-absolute-temperature (PTAT) output, digital signal processor (DSP) core, and electrically erasable memory (EEPROM). |
Additionally, typical power consumption of 45 µA is among lowest in the industry, allowing for portable device design solutions. Devices feature low quiescent current: <80µA at 25°C with 3.3V minimizes self-heating errors for applications such as wall-mounted thermostats.
The sensors available operate in the general range: 50°C to 150°C or -10°C to +60°C, according to model. They feature accuracy from 0.5°C down to 0.05°C acording to model and measurement range.
The sensors are available now in a variety of packaging options. These include SOP-8 (SOIC-8) and e-line (TO-92 compatible) packages. The chip size of 1.6 x 1.5 mm offers the smallest sensor design for calibrated chips for assembly as chip-on-board, chip-on-flex, and chip-scale packages.
