The image shown here with this greeting is a special infrared thermal image sent to us by the folks at IRCAM in Germany.
It is the best Infrared image we have seen this season that combines a unique perspective of a seasonal sentiment and Infrared imaging technical expertise.
We were so taken with it that we asked if we could reuse it in our expression of holiday greetings on the Web. They were kind enough to grant us permission.

Here’s how they describe the image creation:
IR Image with Multi-IT Mode
The image is an overlay of three quasi-simultaneous images taken with different integration times.
This method makes it possible to see low temperature objects (black-blue) as well as high temperature objects (orange-white) in the same image with high resolution.
This measurement was made with the IRCAM Equus 327k SM infrared camera. (Fast large format (600 x 512 pixels) IR camera for the spectral range SWIR and MWIR.)
