H1N1 Prep In USA Missing Infrared – Why?

No Mention of Body Temperature Screening at Hospitals, Schools and Transit Junctions!!! (An Editorial)
medtherm-af_1Washington DC, USA — Here’s a 13 minute video showing statements this past Friday by Mayor Adrian Fenty and the D.C. Department of Health discussing the city’s swine flu preparations (It takes a few seconds to get through the commercial..please wait – it’s worth it in many ways).

Similar programs are in place in New York and elsewhere.

We noted that the plans cover much and focus on prevention, except for use of mass screening tools, like specialty Infrared Imaging Systems to detect those with possible fever.

Such Infrared  systems are in wide use in many countries outside the USA, especially densely populated countries in Asia. Most are made in the USA!

(See the news video at the original site: www.clipsyndicate.com/video/play/1084988)

What do those in other countries know that our USA leaders do not?

Listen and learn what our leaders are planning and not considering.

Then see some of our earlier articles and references to work done in China & Singapore as far back as 2004 (listed below). There is a huge disconnect!

Next, check the recent International Standards that have been developed and are published by two prominent International Standards organizations, the ISO* and IEC**.

They address the performance and use of Infrared Imaging Devices for mass screening of humans to detect those with elevated body temperatures sooner. (Published abstracts are on our companion website IRWeb.INFO.)

We think our leaders are missing a lot and cannot understand why they appear to be so near sighted in this life and death issue.

It is equally surprising to note that the news media attending the Washington DC press conference asked no questions at all despite having  clear opportunity to do so! (It’s at the very end of the video.)

Here’s a few links to past stories on this subject on this site:

What do you think?

What does your elected government represented think?

Do you know?

Comments welcome.
