Stephan Matthiesen

Edinburgh, Scotland, UK?? –?? Stephan Matthiesen of the EarthTemp Network and the University of??Edinburgh School of GeoSciences is coordinating/editing/writing a textbook on Earth’s surface temperature.

He seeks colleagues who want to help.

Contributions can be as much or as little as one can manage.

It doesn’t have to be a lot of work, helpful also are, for example, existing lecture notes, presentations or similar material that he could use as a basis for writing.

The book will cover:

  • Fundamentals (motivation, physics, mathematics, sensors for measuring Earth’s surface temperatures)
  • Domains (SST, LST, IST, LSWT)
  • Applications (Use of temperatures in Climatology, Meteorology, Oceanography, Health, Agriculture, etc.)

He goal is to finish in the first few months of 2015.

If you are?? interested in helping or have materials to contribute, please contact him directly at Stephan.Matthiesen@ed.ac.uk to discuss details.

Contributions will of course be acknowledged appropriately.
